Isopropyl alcohol works by denaturing proteins. It disrupts the proteins and enzymes in microorganisms, leading to their inactivation and death. This action effectively kills bacteria, viruses, and fungi. It also disrupts cell membranes of microorganisms, further aiding in their destruction.

• Apply a small amount directly to the wound 1 to 2 times daily.

Before using Saniswab, it’s important to consider the following precautions and warnings:

• Allow Saniswab solution to dry completely on the skin before starting any medical procedure. Do not use electrocautery procedures or other ignition sources until the skin is fully dry. Avoid use while smoking or near naked flames or strong heat sources.
• Do not use excessive quantities, and ensure the solution does not pool in skin folds, under the patient, or drip onto sheets or other material in direct contact with the patient.
• Use with care in neonates, especially those born before 32 weeks of gestation and within the first 2 weeks of life, as Saniswab may cause chemical skin burns.
• Avoid using near the eyes or mucous membranes, as it may cause irritation, eye pain, impaired vision, chemical burns, and eye injury. If contact occurs, wash immediately with plenty of water.
• Do not apply to open wounds, broken, or damaged skin.
• Saniswab should not come into contact with neural tissues. To prevent exposure of the middle ear via a perforated eardrum, use in the ear canal is contraindicated.
• Chlorhexidine, a component of Saniswab, is incompatible with soap and other anionic agents.
• Alcohol should not be used in conjunction with certain vaccines and skin test injections (patch tests). If uncertain, consult the vaccine manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Avoid applying the solution vigorously to fragile or sensitive skin. Repeated use may cause local skin reactions, including erythema, inflammation, itching, dry or flaky skin, and local pain. Discontinue use at the first sign of a skin reaction.
• Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to Saniswab or any of its components, especially those with a history of chlorhexidine-related allergic reactions. Chlorhexidine-containing products can cause anaphylactic reactions during anesthesia. If symptoms of an allergic reaction occur (e.g., sudden drop in blood pressure, hives, angioedema), consider a chlorhexidine-related allergy.
• Special care should be taken to avoid patient exposure to any other product containing chlorhexidine during the course of treatment.

Saniswab Alcohol Pads should be stored properly to maintain their effectiveness. Store the product at a temperature between 15°C and 30°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct heat, light, and moisture. Ensure the packaging is tightly sealed to prevent contamination.
