  • Description

Potassium Nitrate and Sodium Fluoride are the active ingredients in the toothpaste, each with a specific mechanism of action. Potassium Nitrate acts as a desensitizing agent by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses in the dentin, thereby reducing the sensitivity of teeth to pain triggers such as hot, cold, or sweet substances. This is achieved by its ability to interfere with the excitability of nerve fibers, helping to calm hypersensitive nerve endings. On the other hand, Sodium Fluoride works by promoting remineralization of tooth enamel, which strengthens the teeth and helps prevent tooth decay. It does this by attracting calcium ions to the tooth surface, encouraging the formation of a stronger, more acid-resistant enamel layer.
