Lahore: The Government of Punjab approves more hospital additions to the health card panel. This will widen the treatment options for the people getting treated on Sehat Insaf Card.

According to the resources, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Chief Minister of Punjab held a meeting with officials in which he reviewed the treatment options available on Sehat Insaf Card. He then approved the addition of more hospitals in the Sehat Card panel to improve treatment services.

Other than this, cyberknife, which is a cutting-edge procedure, was also added to the list of surgical procedures catered via health cards. These parameters will improve the quality of care for patients. “The provision of free healthcare to the marginalised section of society is the foremost priority of the government,” said CM Punjab.

This expansion of the Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) health card program was planned in July earlier this year. The meeting was chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi who asked for the expansion of health facilities available on Sehat Card. Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Dr Amir Aziz and Secretary Specialized Healthcare Dept Mohsin Ghurki of Ghurki Hospital also attended the meeting.

“The option of treatment of more diseases through health cards will also be provided,” stated CM Punjab. In the same meeting, CM Punjab asked for the upgradation of emergency wards in empanelled hospitals in Punjab including Wazirabad Institute of Cardiology. CM Punjab also asked to overcome the shortage of doctors and staff at Wazirabad Institute of Cardiology.
